This Policy is one of the ‘Standard infection control precautions’ (SICPs) referred to by NHS England.
Care equipment may look clean, but microorganisms, such as bacteria and viruses, may be present, some are harmful, some not.
All staff should know and understand the importance of clean care equipment.
